Seating, shelter and storage ideas

Space is at a premium and we all want to make the most of what we have at our disposal. When it comes to schools and other organisations, it can be really useful to have a way of using every available corner for other purposes. This is especially true of storage of such items as sports equipment or other kit, which can be bulky and take up valuable storeroom space – but some imaginative solutions are at hand.

Multitasking

When we’re thinking about our designs, we try to bear several factors in mind. One is sustainability, which results in many of our pieces of equipment being made from biodegradable and environmentally-friendly materials, such as wood. Working with timber ensures that our products look the part and blend into the outdoors. It also allows us to create multipurpose designs in a variety of shapes and sizes. Take for example our tower designs. These can be put to use as seating, as shelter and if some of the elements are hollow, can also be used to store kit too. They can be made to any dimensions and specifications, which makes sure you get exactly the end result that you require for your outdoor activity area.

Take a seat

We also have designs which can be used as a performance area and stage, which can include movable seating that can be also used for outdoor lessons or concerts. The beauty of being outside for either play or lessons makes the whole experience so much more exciting – and also much better for you too. Having larger areas of outdoor seating already available in-situ outside is so much handier, rather than having to carry chairs out every time outdoor seating is required. It also allows you to make the most of the great weather – when it shows up. Many of our structures can also be used to provide a bit of shelter. This can either be shade from the sun, or cover from a passing shower. This also maximises the amount of time spent outdoors, which is healthier for everyone’s body and mind.

Space invaders

You can also use the spaces inside and around the play equipment as additional storage too. The more ingenious the ideas, the better the equipment can be utilised beyond its purpose. It’s also fun for the children, unpacking kit from under or inside the structures as part of their activities. By thinking outside the box, you can come up with all kinds of ways to fill it!

As well as being created using the finest material, all our playground equipment is manufactured and tested to the highest standards, to comply with the European Standard EN 1176. If you’d like more information on our wide range of outdoor play and activity equipment, then visit our website today.
